COMFORT: Short film with 3D audio

Home / 3D Sound / Comfort

In brief

Short movie "Comfort" was created to give the leading role to the soundtrack and to merge traditional and new media
by combining framed, cinematic video footage with spatial sound.

Description

Short movie "Comfort" wants to tell a story through sound and make the viewer feel present in the scene. The film was created to test whether the binaural audio makes him more immersed, and what effect it has on his perception when combined with the footage shot from a particular perspective. The minimalistic, theatrical set design and the simplicity of the image was meant to give the space for the soundtrack, and leave the viewer to imagine what is not explicitly shown.

The project was realized with the support of Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Banff, Canada). In the production took part the participants of various practicums and staff members of Banff Centre.

Please note: Because of the research reasons and festival submissions the movie cannot be presented publicly just yet, but feel free to reach out if you want to see it.
